As of now, the Assurance Connected Care service that Hyundai introduced at the New York Auto Show with the 2014 Equus sedan is complimentary for three years on any vehicle equipped with the company’s Blue Link telematic systems. It’s the third service package to join the Blue Link suite, after Essentials and Guidance.

Assurance Connected Care provides owners with monthly vehicle reports, maintenance alerts, notification of diagnostic trouble codes and safety features like SOS emergency assistance and automatic collision notification sent to Blue Link agents. The service can also be transferred to new owners within the three-year timeframe. Owners who already have Blue Link can add Assurance Connected Care “at a reduced price,” but Hyundai hasn’t said what that price is yet.

Hyundai of Cookeville announces Hyundai Motor America sets all-time record!

Hyundai Motor America announced sales of 68,306 units, down just two percent versus the best volume month Hyundai ever recorded last year, and up more than 30 percent over February levels. The first quarter of 2013 was the best in Hyundai’s history.

“March felt just great,” said Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president of national sales. “We definitely benefitted from better inventories of Elantra thanks to the addition of the third shift at our Alabama plant, improved weather conditions in our important Northern markets and more robust retail activity reflecting a steady recovery in consumer confidence. Elantra led the pack with an all-time monthly sales record of 26,153 units, up 33 percent year-over-year. Sonata Hybrid also set a new all-time sales record with 2,006 sales, up 13 percent versus last year.”

Fleet mix was 17 percent for the month and stands at 16 percent for the year, among the lowest in the industry.

“This March was an incredibly strong month for us, the second best sales month in our history, just two percent below our all-time record from last March,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. “While our plants continue to stretch to hit our demand levels, we still have one of the tightest inventory levels in the industry. This month, you could see the impact of improved Elantra availability, but our dealers remain constrained on Sonata, which continues as one of the fastest turning mid-size cars in the industry.”

According to data from Cars.com, the traditional five highest volume mid-size sedans (Accord, Camry, Altima, Fusion, and Malibu) have 72 percent more dealer stock than Sonata.

Sales in March of Certified Pre-Owned vehicles totaled 6,715, up eight percent for the first quarter. More than 80 percent of Hyundai’s dealers are now participating in the CPO program, which has been a key component in driving Hyundai residual values to record high levels. Hyundai Elantra, Azera, and Santa Fe Sport are all ALG Residual Value award winners for the 2013 model year.

Hyundai of Cookeville Announces the 2013 Hyundai Veloster RE:MIX Special Edition On Sale

The SEMA show in Las Vegas, last October, was the first glimpse of the production version of the 2013 Hyundai Veloster RE:MIX Special Edition. It is now available to Tennessee drivers!

The vehicle embraced the “individual creativity, passion and connectivity” philosophy and was expected to be in dealerships by the end of last year.

The first car has now officially been delivered to Brittany Carmona, a customer of the Sterling McCall Hyundai dealership in Houston.

Colors, body kit, graphics

The RE:MIX Velosters will be made available in some cool colors, including Sprint Gray, Century White, 26.2 Yellow, Marathon Blue, Ultra Black and Boston Red.

On the exterior, you will also see 18-inch gunmetal-painted alloy wheels, a custom body kit and graphics, LED taillights, and RE:MIX badging.

The interior is also something to see, with a leather steering wheel and shift knob, killer 450-watt Dimension sound system, accent lighting, keyless entry with push button start, and RE:MIX floor mats.

Manual transmission with 6 speeds will be standard, but there is also a dual-clutch automated manual upgrade available.

The one thing that remains constant with the regular Veloster is the 1.6L, 4-cylinder engine that delivers 136 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque.

The brakes and suspension will also be the same as those found on the standard model.

RE:MIX Special Edition pricing

All Veloster models come with connectivity and design expression principles included, but the RE:MIX is the only one that truly provides exclusivity.

The manual transmission model starts at $20,475 (including the $795 destination charge).

Why trade-in?

Trading in your current vehicle towards another can partially offset the cost of the new vehicle. The trade-in’s net value goes towards the purchase or lease of a new car. Conditions of a trade-in vary depending on who owns the vehicle.

If you own the vehicle, trading-in means that you’re selling the car to the dealer for some determined price. As a result, the price of the new car goes down, only.

If you are leasing a vehicle and do not own it, trading-in means that the seller of the new car agrees to pay the outstanding costs associated with the lease. Depending on the financing of the new vehicle and the outstanding balance on the old one, trading-in can either raise or lower the new car’s price.

Why is it beneficial to trade-in?

When you trade-in you don’t have to worry about selling the vehicle yourself or any of the associated costs (advertising, showing the car, etc). A dealer may offer a price you could not get yourself as an incentive to purchase a new vehicle. If the trade-in has known problems that could plague you later (when the buyer returns complaining), selling the car to the dealer eliminates the bother. Trading-in a lease car may relieve you of, in the long run, monthly costs you cannot afford. Sometimes people trade in lease vehicles because of poor gas mileage or lack of practicality.

Why decide against trading-in?

If you think you can get a better price selling privately, and it’s worth the time, money and effort, do not sell to the dealer. Some cars are of special interest and dealers will not always recognize those interests.

What happens to a trade-in?

Some are kept by the dealer and resold as used cars. Many are sent to auction and purchased by other dealers for resale. Dealers know that auction prices often will not match the sum credited toward a new vehicle, but they absorb the losses as sales incentives.

Check used car values in guides issued by organizations such as Edmunds.com or the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Often both trade-in and private sale values are listed. Hyundai of Cookeville Announces Azera, Sante FE Sport and Veloster Turbo Win 2012 Good Design Awards

The 2012 Hyundai Azera, 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo all earned GOOD DESIGN™ Awards in the Transportation category for their innovative and unique designs.

The prestigious GOOD DESIGN Awards are presented annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Founded in Chicago in 1950, GOOD DESIGN bestows international recognition upon the world’s most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary, and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design.

For 2012, The GOOD DESIGN Awards were judged in New York by an international jury of design professionals, architects, experts, and cultural leaders. The jury selected more than 700 product designs and graphics from more than 38 nations.

Azera’s design takes inspiration from the mechanics of flight. It’s empowered by Hyundai’s design concept known as “Grand Glide.” The grandeur of the Azera and its beautiful design distinguishes it from other full-size sedans. The exterior of the all-new Azera is long, light and low and the unique, undulating beltline allows for a long, sleek roofline accented by the third window and wraparound LED taillights. The Azera separates itself from competition by combining luxury features with advanced technologies and bold design philosophies.

The all-new Hyundai Santa Fe Sport adopts its own design concept called “Storm Edge,” which captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm. Featuring sophisticated and refined lines, which are in harmony with its bold and voluminous surfaces, Santa Fe presents a more masculine and more aggressive SUV appearance than its predecessor.

Veloster Turbo’s playful, high-efficiency, and “own-it” attitude are all characteristics of the young demographic target, while offering a “modern premium” look and feel. Veloster Turbo bridges the gap between a versatile interior space and the strong appeal of a sports car, and is designed to bring added emotional appeal to the Hyundai brand, tailored to a younger generation. Hyundai of Cookeville Announces the Autobytel 2013 Crossover/Wagon of the Year Winner: 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

The Autobytel 2013 Crossover/Wagon of the Year illustrates just how seriously car companies are taking the small people mover segment after decades spent focusing on plus-size entries.  The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Not is not only a value-focused compact crossover with style, but one can also enjoy a reasonably fuel efficient all-wheel drive crossover at an affordable price. Upper Cumberland drivers may even be able to slip behind the wheel of one that is designed to provide actual driving thrills alongside practicality.

Sometimes an automaker is forced to juggle its lineup and weed out poor performers so that its most capable models can truly shine.  Such is the case with the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, a crossover that represents the smaller, five-passenger sibling to the redesigned seven-passenger Santa Fe that replaces the departing Hyundai Veracruz.  The Santa Fe Sport has been given a thorough update compared to the previous year’s Santa Fe, and it features an extensive amount of available equipment (as is customary with the Korean brand).  The crossover can be motivated by either a 190 horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder base engine or a more robust 264 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and all-wheel drive is available with either engine.
